An adventurer and explorer at heart, I've always embraced life’s journey with open arms. But life has a way of throwing unexpected challenges our way, and my most recent challenge came in the form of cancer. While this new journey may be tough, it’s also filled with moments of strength, love, and the commitment to keep moving forward.

In my blog pages, you’ll not only find updates on what's happening, you'll read reflections on my personal experiences as I discover beauty in everyday moments and strength in vulnerability. Join me as I share my experiences, reflections, and the unwavering hope that illuminates my path, even when life seems uncertain. Together we will learn to navigate the complexities of life, one step at a time.

I asked the Lord for help, and he answered me. He saved me from all that I feared. - Psalm 34:4

pebbles on the path

setting stones along the way

In the Old Testament, God instructed His people to build altars of remembrance using stones gathered during their journeys. These stone markers represented significant moments when God revealed His promises, power, mercy, salvation, deliverance, and blessings in unmistakable and remarkable ways. Joshua 4 tells us the Lord instructs a stone memorial to be built, and when future generations ask, "What are these stones?" He said to them,

Tell your children how I held back the waters of the Jordan and let you pass on dry land. These stones are a memorial to the people of Israel forever

Similarly, Jacob sets up a stone as a pillar and names it Bethel (House of God) after receiving a dream where angels convey that God will be with him. Samuel also erects a stone called Ebenezer (stone of help) to commemorate the Lord's assistance in their victory over Philistines.

I find it interesting that he instructed to build altars from uncut stones; they had to be natural, rugged. While we often desire a smooth, paved path, it's always been the rocky, rough road where I've grown, developed character, and found closeness in the shelter of God.

My current path may be filled with twists and turns, making it challenging to navigate. However, looking back at the winding road I've traveled, I can easily spot the pebbles that remind me of the Lord's constant presence, revealing His power and purpose, assuring me that He will never leave or abandon us. I will continue to set stones of gratitude, honour, and remembrance for all He has done.

  • Ongoing Prayer Requests for Alisa

  • We continue to be deeply grateful for the miracle God has already performed in Alisa’s life. As we move forward, we humbly ask for continued prayer as her journey is not yet complete.

  • Please pray for:

  • Healing and restoration – Alisa’s blood counts remain very low. Pray for strength in her body, recovery of her immune system, and stability in her ongoing treatments.

  • Protection from infection – That her body would be guarded against any return of fungal or secondary infections.

  • Wisdom for her medical team – For discernment, clarity, and unity among the doctors and specialists overseeing her care.

  • Strength and endurance – For Alisa as she continues frequent hospital visits, treatments, and the physical toll of recovery.

  • A smooth transition home – That practical details, medical logistics, and daily care would fall into place with peace and support.

  • Emotional and spiritual peace – For Alisa and her family as they process all that has happened and look toward the future with hope.

  • Continued moments of joy – That she would be filled with life-giving, everyday moments with her family that restore her spirit.

  • Thank you for standing with us in prayer. We have seen firsthand that God is a God of miracles, and we trust Him for every step still ahead.
